Preferences

The preferences window allows you to make settings specific to your radios and tastes.  These settings will be retained when you restart link700.

Serial Ports
TM-D700 Port : Set COM port and baud rate for your TM-D700.  If you are not using a TM-D700, ignore these settings.

TH-D7 Port: Set COM port for your TH-D7. If you are not using a TH-D7, you can ignore this setting.

TM-G707 Port: Set COM port for your TM-G707. If you are not using a TM-G707, you can ignore this setting.

TH-F6/F7 Port: Set COM port for your TH-F6 or TH-F7. If you are not using one of these radios, you can ignore this setting.

TS-480 Port: Set COM port for your TS-480.  If you are not using one of these radios, you can ignore this setting.  Set the Baud rate to match the baud rate selected in the menu, item 56.

TS-2000 Port:  Set COM port for your TS-2000.  If you are not using one of these radios, you can ignore this setting.  Set the Baud rate to match the baud rate selected in the menu, item 56.

Show Ports :  link700 can scan to find the COM ports on your computer. It your COM ports do not show up in a regular scan, as is the case for some device drivers that do not put the proper entries in the Registry ( e.g. some USB to Serial Converters ), You can select either displaying COM1-4, COM1- 6 or COM 1-8 by clicking on the appropriate button under this tab. The Settings window will close after doing this, since items on it will have to be re-initialized.

Note: It is better to use separate COM ports for TH-D7,TM-D700, and so on, since link700 will run several ports simultaneously. However, the same port can be used for more than one radio, but of course, then only one radio may be used by that port at a time. The different radios must then be either connected and disconnected each time you want to use link700, or a serial switchbox may be used.

Menu
Include in "New" Menu : by unchecking the respective model number, the "New" menu item will not show that profile. You may remove those profiles you never intend to use, e.g. the "E" versions, in order to reduce clutter.

Show Tool Bar: check this to display the tool bar.  Unchecked, the tool bar disappears and you have more room in the link700 main window.

TS-2000 Menu Item 5 Default:  Allows the user to set the Item 5 default to the same as his radio type ( ON for E types, OFF for K types ).

Import
Import into "Name" : When you export data from Travel Plus for Repeaters, data is in the form of a table, with each row a repeater, and each column contains a specific data about that repeater. Frequency and CTCSS, for example, are always imported into their respective fields in a given memory channel. "Import into "Name"" allows you to choose which data column to copy from the import window into the "Name" field on the radio profile when importing files. You may select either "Location", "Call", or "Sponsor" column.

Import Subaudible tone into "CTCSS":
Import Subaudible tone into "Tone":  When these options are enabled, the subaudible tone specified in the import list is imported into the respective frequency function of the radio channel. The default setting is to put the frequency in both the CTCSS and Tone frequency.  Either one or both may be disabled, according to your preferences.

Subaudible Enable: when a subaudible frequency is imported into a channel, this setting chooses which tone function to enable, as only one can be enabled at a time.  Choose either "CTCSS" or "Tone", and be sure you have the corresponding "Import Subaudible tone...", above checked to correctly import the tone frequency and enable into your preferred tone function. You may enable neither by choosing "None"

Frequencies
Green Wire Cut for TH-D7E/EG:  If you have the modification known as the "Green Wire" modification, which consists of removing the green jumper near the options diodes, then choose this option to include the extra frequencies in your TH-D7E and TH-D7EG profiles.

Round to Step Frequency: Forces the receive frequency to be rounded to a multiple of the step frequency when saved.

Store Default Offset with Simplex Channels:  Stores the default offset frequencies with simplex channels.  This is a convenience if you store a simplex channel, and then later want to change to a repeater frequency on the same band, using the front panel of the radio. This has little utility of you always use link700 to change frequencies, however.
