Memory Channel Editor
Memory Channels are edited using the Memory Channel Editor. The list at left shows the name and frequency of each stored channel. The editing fields at the right show all the specific settings of each channel. To edit a channel, click on it in the list and the data will be transferred to the editing fields. To save your changes, click on the list again, either the same channel or another one.
Creating a Channel
To create a channel, click on a empty channel. All entries in the editing fields will be blank. It is best to enter the Receive Frequency first. Enter the frequency in Mhz. Choose the transmit offset method on the buttons above the Receive Frequency. Split will open a Transmit Frequency field while + or - will open an Offset field. Receive or Transmit Step may be changed with the respective drop-down lists. The arrows next to the frequency windows will step frequencies up and down, respectively.
Set any Tone, CTCSS or DCS frequencies and check the respective boxes to the right to enable them. Only one tone mode can be enabled at a time.
Set scan Lockout and Reverse with the respective check boxes. The Memory Name field allows you to enter an alphanumeric name for the channel.
The "Clear" Button will clear all selected channels.
"Name" lengths
Different radios will save a different maximum number of characters for channel names. link700 will allow you to enter names longer than this, but not save them, either to the radio or to a file. When a long name is entered, either manually, or cut and paste from another radio type, the characters that won't be saved will be displayed on the list in a different color. This will allow you to, for instance, to shorten those names imported from Travel Plus for repeaters, and make unique names for each channel. Remember to do this before the file is saved, or the names will be shortened to maximum size and the rest lost.
