TH-D7 Radio Editor


Band: Click the corresponding radio button to choose either Band A or B.

Dual: Check to enable simultaneous reception from both bands.

A Tone Alert, B Tone Alert: Gives an audible alarm when signals are present on the corresponding band.

Lock: Prevents settings from being changed until LOCK is turned OFF. See "Tune Enable", below.

Beat Shift: Shift beat note caused by the internal TNC.

Duplex: Allows transmitting data on the data band while transmitting voice on the other.

Lamp: Turns on the display lamp.

Display
Power On Message:  Enter the text to appear when the radio is turned on. Default is Hello!!, but a more practical message is your callsign.

Contrast can be set by clicking on the up/down arrows.

Save
Battery Saver: select the interval for the battery saver.

APO: Determines how much time must pass before the TH-D7 turns itself off.

DTMF
DTMF TX Speed: Set TX speed for DTMF numbers to FAST or SLOW.

DTMF TX Hold: Turned On, this causes the transmitter to remain on for 2 seconds after the last DTMF is released.
 
DTMF Pause: Sets pause time for DTMF channels.

TNC
Data Band(TH-D7A/E): Select data bands for TNC.  Transmission and reception are always on the same band.
Data Band(TH-D7AG): Select Transmit and Receive bands for TNC.  Transmission and reception may be the same band or the alternate band.

DCD Sense(TH-D7A/E)Select Which bands will prevent the TNC from transmitting. Choices are: Data Band Only or Both Bands.
DCD Sense(TH-D7AG)Select Which bands will prevent the TNC from transmitting. Choices are: Data Band, Both Bands or Ignore DCD.

AUX
Power for Band A and Band B  are set using the pull down lists.

Auto Offset: Click this to automatically set the proper repeater offset frequency. 

Scan Resume: Choose the method of resuming  after a stop during scan. The modes are:
  • Time:  Pause for about five seconds before resuming scan.
  • Carrier:  Pause while the signal is present and until 2 seconds after the signal drops.
  • Seek: Do not resume scanning upon finding an active channel.
     
    Beep(TH-D7A/E): Determines functions that cause a beep to occur. Choices are: Off, Key, Key + Data, or All.

    Balance:  Set the audio balance between the A and B channels.  Drag the slider with the mouse, or select the control and move the slider with the up/down arrows.

    Key Beep(TH-D7AG): Turns Key Beeps on or off.

    Tune Enable: Allows you to use the Tuning control or UP/DOWN buttons when the LOCK is active.

    TX Inhibit: Disable the transmitter, for example, to prevent unauthorized use.

    Tone Hold 1750 Hz(TH-D7E/AG only): Causes the transmitter to remain active for 2 seconds after a 1750 tone is sent.

    Narrow TX Deviation(TH-D7E only): Turn on Narrow transmit deviation.

    VHF AIP:  Turn on Advanced Intercept Point to reduce intermod distortion in the VHF band. Note that this reduces receive sensitivity.
