TH-D7G APRS Editor
1 - My Call Sign: enter callsign to be used for APRS functions. There is a limit of 9 characters.
2 - GPS Receiver: specify the type of GPS used, NMEA, NMEA96( 9600 baud ) or none.
3 - Waypoint: specify 6 through 9 characters to be sent to the GPS receiver to identify waypoints, Magellan format, DGPS, or OFF.
4 - My Position: 4 You may store up to three positions in the TH-D7AG. To use the link700 position editor, enter position data and name in the table directly. You can choose the position the radio uses by doing either of the following: Click on the column with the ">" at the position you want to become active. The ">" will move there. Alternately, highlight the block you want the ">" to go to and press "Enter".
5 - Position Ambiguity: Selects the number of digits not to be included in the packet position reports. Off shows them all, 1 eliminates the 100ths digit, 2 the 100ths and 10ths, and so on, up to 4.
6 - Position Comment: Select From the following :Off Duty, En route, In Service, Returning, Committed, Special Priority, Custom 0 - 6, Emergency! Note that the "Custom" comments are not programmable, but show up as Custom 1 through 6. The idea is to agree with the sender as to the meaning of the "Custom" comments.
7 - Reception Restriction Distance: If you want to limit the reception distance of the packets received by your radio, set the distance here, in multiples of 10. The units are either miles or km, according to distance units, below. 0 turns off Reception Restriction.
8 - Station Icon: set the Icon transmitted by your position reports. For the "built-in" icons, select the list box at the top and pull-down the list to choose your icon. If you want to use another icon, click the bottom button, then select either "/" or "\" and the character icon.
9 - Status Text: You may store up to three Status texts to be transmitted with your position report. Simply type them in the table. The "." shows which on will be used. To move the ">", click on the row and column where you want it to go. To change the ">" using the keyboard, select the row and column where you want it to go with the up/down keys, then press the "Enter" key.
A - Status Text Transmit Rate: Specifies how often the status text is transmitted. 1/1 sends it every time, 1/2 sends it every second packet, 1/3 every third, and so on.
B - Packet Path: specify packet path up to 79 characters.
C - Packet Transmit Method:
- Manual: requires a [BCON] to transmit a position report.
- PTT: Transmits a position report on the tail-end of a voice transmission, only after the interval in Item D, below has timed out..
- Auto: transmits at interval set by Item D, below.
PTT and Auto may be turned on or off with the sequence [BCON] .
D - Packet Transmit Interval : select transmit interval for position reports: 0.2, 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, or 30 minutes.
E - Group Code( UNPROTOCOL) : enter up to 9 characters for Group Code.
F - Beep: Select the Beep mode
- Off: no beeps
- Mine: Beep only when receiving an APRS message.
- All New: All new packets ( i.e. not on duplicates )
- All: Always beep.
G - Entire Display/One Line
H - Unit for Distance: Select miles or km.
I - Unit for Temperature: Select °F or °C.
J - Auto Answer Reply: If this is checked, the Reply message, Item N, will automatically be sent when a message is received.
K - Reply Message: Specify the reply message for Item M, up to 64 characters.
L - Message Group: Specify Message groups, up to 9 characters each, separated by commas.
M - Data Band: Select either A or B, different transmit and receive bands.
N - Packet Transfer Rate: Select either 1200 or 9600 baud for APRS packet transfers.
O - Time Zone: Enter your time zone with the pull-down list.
P - Packet Transmit Delay: Adjusts the time between keying the transmitter and the packet signal beginning. Choose from 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 750, or 1000 msec
